Setup is unable to proceed due to following error: This product requires Microsoft .net framework 4.5 SharePoint 2013

Hi Friends, Today i was doing SharePoint farm configuration for one of my client. Setup was as follow. Operating System : Windows Server 2012 R2 Database Server : SQL Server 2014 with SP2 The server was having . net framework 4.6.1 installed . SharePoint server requirement is to have .net framework 4.5 and above. But still i got an error: Setup is unable to proceed due to following error: This product requires Microsoft .net framework 4.5  SharePoint 2013. What was wrong? The update KB3102467 was causing the issue. During the installation the installer verifies if .NET framework 4.5 is available and fails to install SharePoint 2013 if .NET framework 4.6 is installed. The reason is that .NET framework 4.6 replaces .NET framework 4.5 and is not a side-by-side installation. As the installer is not able to match .NET framework 4.6 to .NET framework 4.5 it will prevent the installation. The solution is to uninstall  KB3102467 . After successful ...

Virtualization remains one of the hottest trends in business IT. Whether your organization has already invested heavily in the cloud or is considering a first-time migration, it can be critical to consider the role of a hypervisor in youroverall experience. A hypervisor is computer software, firmware, or hardware that creates and runs virtual machines. The hypervisor presents virtual, or guest operating systems to virtual machines and manages the execution of these virtual operating platforms, which can consist of a variety of operating systems. The right hypervisor can ensure ease of use, flexible resource allocation, and minimal disruption to each of the operating systems in use. Two of the most common choices for hypervisors include vSphere by VMware and Hyper-V, by Microsoft. Hyper-V is built into Windows Server, or can be installed as a standalone server, known as Hyper-V Server, both of which can ease the learning curve for virtualization administrators who already have kn...

A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type YourNameSpace.YourPart, YourPart, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=SomeToken could not be found or it is not registered as safe.

Hi Friends, Its over a year since we met each other. I am back guys. Lets start the post. This time i am going to describe one stupid error in SharePoint web part deployment. The developer came to me today with a issue . A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type YourNameSpace.YourPart, YourPart, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=SomeToken could not be found or it is not registered as safe. When you closely see , error itself shows some assembly is not added in safe control list. This is an unusal behaviour. When you deploy any solution , SharePoint does take care about adding safe control values in web.config. But what goes wrong here?? Web Part namespace was diffrent than specified in solution. It mayy possible that code is taken from some one or copied from another location If you have a web part, you will have a .webpart file. Open it up. You will want to ensure that the type name references your namespace and ty...

Shadow Rebundancy and SMTP delay Acknowledgement

Exchange 2010 introduced the shadow redundancy feature to minimize the loss of any message during delivery after it enters the Exchange organization. Exchange Transport servers achieve this by using the shadow redundancy SMTP protocol extension.         However, in any organization Exchange Transport servers need to communicate with other third-party SMTP servers that may not support the shadow redundancy protocol. Transport servers delay sending acknowledgement to incoming messages until they verify final delivery within the organization. However, when a specific threshold was reached, the Transport server issued an acknowledgement even if final delivery wasn’t verified. This presented a scenario where messages received from hosts that don’t support shadow redundancy can be lost in transit.       ...

Offline address book in Exchange 2013

Outlook cached mode Þ      Cached mode is the new default configuration for Outlook. Þ      It provides an experience that is similar to the offline configuration in earlier versions of Outlook. Þ        When you are running in cached mode, your Exchange mailbox is synchronized to a local file (an .ost file), and the offline address list from your Exchange computer is synchronized to a collection of files (.oab files) on your client computer. Þ      Therefore, network communication between Outlook and Exchange is significantly reduced.   Why   offline address book is important? Þ      The offline address book contains a set of all the properties of a user that Outlook requires. Þ      With an offline address book, Outlook does not have to connect to the global catalog to resolve names.

Server 2012 - Top 10 features

Server 2012 comes with some great new features. It also refines previous versions of Server to bring it up to parity, in features and stability, with competing offerings. In short Windows Server 2012 kicks ass. Here are the top 10 reasons why. 1. SMB 3.0 SMB 3.0 is the crown jewel of Server 2012. It is far removed from its laughingstock predecessor CIFS . It supports multiple simultaneous network interfaces – including the ability to hot-plug new interfaces on the fly to increase bandwidth for large or complex transfers – and supports MPIO, thin provisioning of volumes and reduplication (assuming the underlying storage is NTFS). SMB 3.0 also supports SMB Direct and remote direct memory access, the ability for appropriately kitted systems to move SMB data directly from one system's memory to the other, bypassing the SMB stack. This has enabled Microsoft to hit 16GBps transfer rates for SMB 3.0, a weighty gauntlet for any potential challenger to rise.

KB2840149 update for Windows 7 released for infinite reboots

During April 2013 Patch Tuesday, Microsoft released an update for Windows 7 (KB2823324) which was a security update for the Windows 7 file system kernel-mode driver. Unfortunately for some users, this update has resulted in an infinite reboot loop. Microsoft had to issue another fix, KB2839011, to address the reboot bug. Now, Microsoft is making available a new security update, KB2840149, which addresses the security issue that was supposed to have been fixed by the botched update, KB2823324. "As we previously discussed, we stopped distributing this update when we learned some customers were having issues. The new update, KB2840149, still addresses the Moderate security issue described in MS13-036, and should not cause these issues," Microsoft stated in an official blog post. Apparently, the original update created a conflict with certain third-party software, resulting in system errors. Microsoft had to immediately pull the update to prevent any more issues from coming u...
